5 Week Yoga Intensive: An intensive is the perfect way to re-inspire or establish your Yoga practice. Concentrating on a single area for a short time can have profound, long term benefits by providing clarity on what your days consist of, and what is truly important to you!

An untrained mind is a root with many stems and branches; physical disease, feeling unfocused or lethargic, inadequate, feeling stuck, easily influenced, jealous, overly competitive, unable to think for oneself, lethargy, doubt, lack of discipline...

It is possible to develop your mind to be undisturbedcrystal clear in its observation of the world around. This clarity produces pristine interpretation of the observed situation. You are able to withstand what happens to you, even if challenging feelings arise from them. Noticing your present reactions, and learning from your past, means that you are cultivating your mind! 

This program very clearly prepares one to begin or deepen the Yoga practice. There is no simple fix or instant gratification. It takes time, dedication and a (developing) belief in Yoga. By taking time to purposefully dedicate, you will begin to experience clarity in thought, word and action: 

How it works: 

We will meet once per week for 5 weeks to introduce and refine a practice of observing the mind (through concentration and mantra meditation) and enhance sensing abilities (through qi circuit scan and asana practice). 

Over the sessions, we will practice noticing obstacles in mind, and the body's reaction to them, through a daily practice log. The student is required to fill this out each day, as our sessions will expand on them with the study of sacred text, Patanjali's Yoga Sutra (Chapter 1: Samadhi Pada). 

The student will receive 1 video recording for at-home asana practice, 1 audio recording for at-home mantra (japa) practice and a template for the daily practice log. 

Through applied knowledge and practice, we can use the system of Yoga to purify the physical, emotional and mental conditions which have veiled us from seeing the ever present, unconditionally joyous, eternal nature of Self!

PRIVATE YOGA

Private yoga is very individualized, with the Yogic systems of Hatha and Raja Yoga as our skeleton. 

A session can include asana (physical shapes), pranayama (breathing to expand/control life force), meditation and/or mantra (reciting sacred sound). When we practice yoga, we hone the ability of "one pointedness," but anything can be our tool in doing so. As we work together, we will discover what best helps you.

MERIDIAN YOGA MEDICINE 


Have you ever wondered why you have pain? What is pain? Why won’t it go away?


A powerful, holistic system of healing, Meridian Yoga is a lens to look into the body using the therapeutic postures and practices of hatha yoga, as well as hands on healing techniques to see the body, mind and emotions as whole. Through the meridian system of Chinese medicine, we can go deeper into the yogic practice, shining light onto the less conscious parts of us. Becoming increasingly more aware of patterns of pain/tension, emotions and thoughts/beliefs can have a profound effect on our way of being in the world and, more intimately, how we feel in our own body. 


Techniques can include yoga asana, pranayama, acupressure, cupping, guasha and/or moxa. We use the physical body and breath to bring recognition and change to the emotions and mind.
